Early on Friday morning, June 18, 2021, Stanley J. Birdwell, Jr., 68, died in his Sutton home, surrounded by his loving family.
He leaves his wife of 37 years, Eileen (Plunkett) Birdwell; two daughters: Adeline B. (Birdwell) Krysko and her husband, Matthew M. Krysko, of Bellingham, and Leigh P. Birdwell and her fiance, Stephen D. Read, of Dedham; his beloved cat, "Whiskey"; and several good friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, Stanley J. Birdwell, Sr., and Catherine L. (Cencini) Birdwell, and a brother, Wade M. Birdwell.
Born in Brookline on February 7, 1953, he was raised in Newton, graduated from Newton North High School, and earned a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Massachusetts (Amherst); he also studied for some time at the Berklee College of Music in Boston.
Stan owned and operated his own web design business for the last 24 years. He also played and taught guitar for many years. He was a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) and St. Mark's Catholic Parish, Sutton. He enjoyed fishing and perfecting his ice cream recipes
His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, June 28, in St. Mark's Catholic Church, 356 Boston Road, Sutton. Burial will follow in St. Philip's Cemetery, Grafton. Relatives and friends are invited to meet with Stan's family from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. on Sunday, June 27, in Turgeon Funeral Home, 56 Main St., Millbury.
