Ronald Jakubiak Obituary

Ronald S. Jakubiak, 78, was stricken ill and died in his home on Tuesday, June 23, 2020.
     He leaves a son, Robert S. Jakubiak and his significant other, Michelle LaForte, of Queen Creek, AZ;  a daughter, Missy Castle of Worcester;  a brother, Robert F. Jakubiak of Millbury;  two nieces:  Marie G. Jakubiak-Shorette and Jessica L. Jakubiak, both of Millbury;  three nephews:  Jeffrey J. Jakubiak and Michael J. Jakubiak, both of of Millbury and Jonathan M. Westfield of Worcester;  eight grandnieces and grandnephews;  three great grandnephews;  his longtime girlfriend, Ann Salemmo of Worcester;  and his special friends:  Patricia and Charlie Jodoin of Cumberland, RI, Richard J. Chysna of Worcester, and Ann Davis of Hamden, CT.
     He was predeceased by his parents, Anthony F. and Genevieve E. (Krawczyk) Jakubiak,  his former wife, Shirley Christanko,  his sister-in-law, Rita M. (LeBlanc) Jakubiak,  and a nephew, Ronald A. Jakubiak.
     Born in Worcester on December 20, 1941, Mr. Jakubiak was raised in Dudley and later returned to Worcester where he spent most of his life.  He worked as a construction laborer for many years before he retired.
     He was an avid coin collector and enjoyed Westerns and reading and watching TV shows about the history of the West.  He also enjoyed nature and taking long walks to admire the lovely local scenery.  Most of all, "Uncle Ronnie" loved and was loved by his family;  he was especially fond of his little brother Bobby and always looked up to him.  He was a man who enjoyed life and loved people.  He will be sorely missed by his family and many friends.
     Mr. Jakubiak's Funeral Mass will be offered at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, July 2, in Assumption Catholic Church, 10 Waters St., Millbury.  Masks must be worn and social distancing will be in effect.  Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Webster.  There are no calling hours.  Please omit flowers.  Turgeon Funeral Home, Millbury, has charge of the arrangements.
