Martha A. (Matson) LeMay, 96, died in her home, surrounded by her loved ones, on Saturday, January 2, 2021, after a lengthy illness. Her husband, Gerard P. LeMay, Sr., died in 2005. She leaves two sons: Gerard P. LeMay, Jr., and his wife, Donna M. (Mallett) LeMay, of Millbury, and Paul A. LeMay and his wife, Jill C. (Dontigney) LeMay, of St. Louis, MO; four grandsons: Lt. Col. Joseph J. LeMay, U.S. Army, and Lt. Col. Michael G. LeMay, U.S. Army, both stationed in Stuttgart, Germany, and Jordan P. LeMay and Tyler A. LeMay, both of St. Louis, MO; four great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Ann Matson of North Grafton; nieces and nephews; grandnieces and grandnephews. In addition to her husband, Mrs. LeMay was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Alice (Polasky) Matson, three sisters and six brothers. Born in Francis, WV, on February 7, 1924, she moved to Millbury in 1946. Mrs. LeMay worked for several years as a printer in West Boylston for State Mutual Life Insurance. She was a member of Assumption Catholic Parish and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Charles F. Minney Post #3329, Veterans of Foreign Wars, both in Millbury. She was also a volunteer at the Millbury Senior Center and delivered Meals On Wheels for many years. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered for Mrs. LeMay at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 9, in Assumption Catholic Church, 10 Waters St., Millbury. Masks and social distancing will be required. She will be buried next to her husband in Central Cemetery, Millbury, following the Mass. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Friends of Millbury Seniors, Inc., 1 River St., Millbury, MA 01527. Turgeon Funeral Home, 56 Main St., Millbury, is assisting the LeMay family with the arrangements.
