Harold Briddon, Jr., 76, passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2022, in UMass Memorial Medical Center, University Campus, Worcester, after a short illness.
He leaves four sons: Louis Briddon of Worcester, Scott Briddon and Jason Briddon, both of Millbury, and Michael Briddon of North Reading; a daughter, Lisa Briddon of Millbury; eight grandchildren; and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents: Harold Briddon, Sr., and Mary F. (Forrest) Briddon.
Born in Worcester on March 22, 1945, he was a graduate of Millbury Memorial High School. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War era, serving aboard submarines out of the U.S. Submarine Base, Groton, CT. He was honorably discharged in 1970.
Mr. Briddon was a sales manager for several hardware stores in the Acton area before he retired. He loved sweets and sports, marking his calendar by the familiar cadence of the Celtics, the Red Sox, the Patriots and the Bruins seasons. He was generous with his time and he understood the importance of small gestures to bring joy to every day life. He was loved and will be missed.
His funeral service will be private and he will be buried with his parents in Old Howard Cemetery in Sutton. There are no calling hours.
