Florence A. (Legassey) Lewandowski Hollembaek, 93, formerly of South Grafton and Auburn, died on August 30, 2021, in Southbridge Rehabilitation and Health Care, after a long period of declining health.
Her first husband, John P. Lewandowski, died in 1996; her second husband, Ronald A. Hollembaek, died in 2015.
She leaves a stepdaughter, Mary Hollembaek of Worcester; two step granddaughters: Alisha M. Campanale of Millbury and Amanda M. George of Sutton; five step great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews and their families. In addition to her spouses and her parents, Eugene A. and Catherine M. (Lavallee) Legassey, she was predeceased by several siblings and their families.
She was born in Worcester on June 26, 1928, and was raised in South Grafton where she lived before moving to Auburn in 1993. She moved to Southbridge recently.
She was a graduate of Grafton High School and Clark University, Worcester.
Mrs. Lewandowski Hollembaek worked as a secretary in the Chancery of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Worcester for over twenty years. She was a longtime member of St. James Catholic Parish, South Grafton, and an Oblate of St. Benedict of St. John's Benedictine Abbey, Collegeville, MN.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, September 17, in St. James Catholic Church, 89 Main St., South Grafton. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Whitinsville. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, a donation to St. James Parish would be most appreciated.
