Doris V. (Perras) Gosselin, 93, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her family, on Sunday, February 26, 2023, after a long illness.
Her husband of 43 years, Gerard M. Gosselin, died in 1991.
She is survived by four sons: Gary (Cathy), Daniel (Sue), Michael, and Steven; two daughters: Gail (Harold Graveson) and Mary Jane (Ronald Leaf); eleven grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her parents, Henry and Marie Louise (Cournoyer) Perras, five sisters, and eleven brothers.
Mrs. Gosselin was born in Northbridge on December 6, 1929 and lived there all of her life. She met and married Gerard, the love of her life, there. Together, they raised their six children in the house Gerard built, the house she loved and lived in until she passed away.
She worked at Fenwal Corp. in Ashland for over sixteen years before she left work to care for her ill husband. She was a caregiver to many for all her life and she became the solid foundation of her family. She had a strong work ethic and kept busy every day. For relaxation, she enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, making jigsaw puzzles, and reading. She was a lifelong member of St. Peter's Catholic Parish, Northbridge.
The Gosselin family would like to offer their sincere appreciation to the Care Central Hospice nurses for their compassionate care.
Mrs. Gosselin's Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, March 3, at 11:00 A.M. in St. Peter's Catholic Church, 39 Church Avenue, Northbridge. Burial next to her beloved Gerard in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Whitinsville, will follow the Mass. A celebration of Mrs. Gosselin's life will take place in St. Peter's parish center after the burial.
Calling hours at Turgeon Funeral Home, 56 Main Street, MILLBURY, will be Thursday, March 2, from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M.
