Claire M. (Adams) Bien Demers Chase

Claire M. (Adams) Bien Demers Chase, 91, died on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, after major surgery at UMass Memorial Medical Center, University Campus, Worcester.
     Her husband, William N. Chase, Sr., died in 2002.
     She leaves two children:  a daughter, Wanda M. Bien, with whom she lived in Auburn, and a son, Roger R. Demers, Jr., and his fiance, Christine, of Campton, NH;  two stepsons:  William N. Chase, Jr., of Athol and Francis J. Chase of Dudley;  a stepdaughter, Vickie M. (Chase) Desrosiers of Manchester, NH;  eight grandchildren;  three great grandchildren;  and nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Theodore R. and Dora (Chausse) Adams, and her husband, she was also predeceased by a brother, Roy Adams;  two sisters, Gloria (Adams) Christian, and Rose Marie Adams;  and a stepdaughter, Cheryl Chase. 
     Mrs. Chase was born in Millbury on February 11, 1930, and she lived in Goffstown, NH, for 28 years before moving to Auburn in 2003.  She was a 1948 graduate of Millbury Memorial High School.
     In 1992, she retired after a career of 47 years working in several insurance offices in the Worcester area and in New Hampshire.  She enjoyed caring for a succession of cats.  She was also an expert at crocheting and knitting, specializing in afghans, doll clothes and calendar dolls.
     Her funeral service will be Saturday, February 19, at 1:00 P.M. in Turgeon Funeral Home, 56 Main St., Millbury.  Burial in Howard Cemetery, Armsby Road, Sutton, will follow the service.  Relatives and friends are invited to visit with her family from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. in the funeral home before the service.
